Intensivists, cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, pediatric and neonatology specialists, perfusionists, ICU nurses, physiotherapists and dieticians will gather to share their clinical experience and discuss new technologies and latest directions in research.

The Consortium is hosting a half day symposium with many of our esteemed Consortium members delivering thought provoking presentations on their experiences and discoveries throughout the pandemic.

Professor John Fraser gave the Keynote Address at the 32nd Annual ELSO Virtual Conference.

The Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) is the premier global organization providing education, training, research, and data for the advancement of extracorporeal life support. The ELSO Registry is the first and largest ECMO database in the world, with over 160,000 ECMO patient cases.

ATS 2021 showcases the latest advances and discoveries in respiratory science, patient care and global respiratory health. At a unique moment in history, these breakthroughs will shape our future as scientists, healthcare professionals and leaders in the field.

The experts will discuss various strategies, considerations, and approaches during a healthy debate. They will touch on topics such as: cannulation strategies, ventilator management, anticoagulation techniques, using cytoreductive techniques, capacity and resource management and timing of vaccinations.

Neurological manifestations have been observed in a relevant proportion of patients with COVID-19 with different clinical presentations and neuroimaging patterns. At present, the pathophysiology of neurological implications in this group of patients is not completely understood.

We know that severe cases of Covid require intensive care and respirators, but as a novel virus with no vaccine or treatments, clinicians are learning on the job how best to treat it.
